About this opportunity
The Phoebe and Mike Church Scholarship is awarded to junior or senior level students enrolled in the Physical Education (Kinesiology) teacher certification option at Eastern Illinois University who plan to teach Physical Education in public schools upon graduation. Recipients must have completed at least four semesters and 90 credit hours at EIU with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Applicants must demonstrate persistence in departmental service activities such as the Kinesiology and Sports Studies Club, Honors Club, Recreational Sports, or volunteer work. The scholarship seeks students who have the potential to be excellent role models for children as both teachers and possibly coaches in public schools. Preference is given to applicants nominated by Kinesiology and Sports Studies faculty members. This award is paid in the Spring semester.
