About this opportunity
The Physics Foundation Scholarship is a stipend scholarship established to provide financial assistance to exceptional PhD students undertaking research within the School of Physics, Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. The scholarship may be awarded as either a primary or supplementary scholarship. Primary scholarships provide a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney's Research Training Program (RTP) stipend rate for up to 3 years, with possible extension of up to 6 months. Supplementary scholarships provide the difference between the RTP rate and Australian Research Council stipend rates. Both types of scholarship recipients receive $2,000 per annum for consumables including travel expenses. The scholarship is offered in various areas of physics and astronomy, including metasurfaces, radiative cooling textiles, fast radio bursts, AI physics, quantum critical points, and quantum optics. Selection is based on academic merit, research proposal, curriculum vitae, and a personal statement describing career goals and research interests.
