About this opportunity
The Places of Science grant scheme provides grants of up to £3,500 to small museums across the United Kingdom, funding projects that tell the stories of science and scientists relevant to local communities. The scheme supports museums to engage local communities with science through their heritage and collections. Projects should highlight topics, stories and people relevant to local communities, present science in new and interesting ways, encourage participation and involvement, and provoke curiosity and enthusiasm. The scheme particularly welcomes projects that explore experiences of historically underrepresented people, involve organizations that don't normally feature scientific content, reach audiences who do not normally engage with science, and align with sustainability themes from the Natural History Museum's Fixing Our Broken Planet programme.
