About This Opportunity

The Point Foundation Access Scholarship aims to mitigate obstacles for LGBTQ+ and ally students who are, or will be, the first in their family to earn a bachelor's degree and/or come from low-income backgrounds by providing them with financial support and access to leadership and professional development. This scholarship provides financial and community support specifically designed for first-generation and/or low-income students pursuing higher education. Access Scholars receive $1,500 in funding for a single academic term, along with access to leadership and career development opportunities including virtual workshops and in-person events such as national conferences. Scholars also benefit from community connections with over one thousand LGBTQ+ and ally alumni and supporters who can help build their professional networks. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and be enrolled at least half-time in a degree-seeking associate, undergraduate, graduate, or professional program at an accredited, not-for-profit college or university in the United States. Students must demonstrate connection and commitment to the LGBTQ+ and ally community. Students enrolled in 100% online degree programs, those who have already received the Access Scholarship for four terms, or current high school students seeking dual enrollment funding are not eligible.
