About this opportunity

The Pomfrey Medical Trust Scholarship is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme at The University of Queensland. This scholarship supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine program who can demonstrate financial hardship. The scholarship was established in 1991 through a $5,000 bequest from George Henry Pomfrey. It provides financial assistance to eligible students, with selection based on demonstrated financial hardship, personal qualities including leadership potential, academic ability, and other factors relevant to future academic success. Applicants need to submit only one application to be considered for all scholarships in the Aspire Scholarship scheme, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship scheme, and the UQ Residential Scholarship scheme. Supporting documentation showing financial circumstances, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status, academic achievements, and community service or leadership achievements may be required.
