Portuguese Teachers Fellowship

The Portuguese Teachers Fellowship provides full funding to cover the comprehensive fee (tuition, on-campus housing and food) for one summer of language study at the Middlebury Portuguese School. Based on merit and demonstrated financial need, this fellowship is designed for current language teachers or graduate assistants who want to further their Portuguese language proficiency in order to teach Portuguese in the future. Fellows will receive full funding to attend the Portuguese School at any current level and have the option to observe classes, develop class plans, create pedagogical sequences, and participate in a class practicum. This immersive experience at Middlebury Language Schools follows the Language Pledge model and provides intensive language training combined with pedagogical development opportunities. The fellowship aims to support aspiring Portuguese language educators in building their teaching skills and cultural competency.
