University of St Andrews Original Source

About This Opportunity

The Postgraduate Accommodation Award provides financial support to help prospective postgraduate students cover the cost of university or private accommodation at the University of St Andrews. Minimum awards of £1,750 per annum are available for the duration of the course and are allocated based on financial need. Eligible applicants should have a gross annual household income of under £40,000. Awards will be applied to University accommodation fees in the first instance for students living in university accommodation. Students who move to privately owned accommodation, including properties let through the University, will receive the award as monthly maintenance payments. The award is paid annually and only during the period when full tuition fees are charged for the course. The scholarship is available for any postgraduate course (excluding online distance learning courses) and is open to students of any domicile status (Scotland home, Rest of UK, or Overseas). Available to full-time and part-time daytime students across all Schools and Departments at the University. Students must articulate their need for support through a personal statement within the application form. Applications open in November 2025 and close in April 2026, with notification expected in late May 2026. The award is not transferable if the course start date is deferred, and does not cover study abroad periods, leave of absence, write-up, continuation, or extension periods.
