Postgraduate Bursary (2026/27)

The University of Bradford Postgraduate Bursary is a financial support program designed to assist UK and EU students pursuing full-time postgraduate studies. This bursary is specifically targeted at students who received means-tested financial support during their undergraduate studies, demonstrating the University's commitment to ensuring that postgraduate education remains accessible to students from lower-income backgrounds. The bursary is available for both taught Master's programs and research postgraduate programs. To qualify for this bursary, applicants must be paying their own fees and must have graduated from their undergraduate degree within the last 10 years. A key eligibility requirement is that applicants must have received either a full maintenance grant from their Local Authority or Student Loans Company in their final year of undergraduate study, or for those who commenced studies from September 2015 onwards, a full means-tested maintenance loan from the Student Loans Company. EU students are eligible only if they completed their undergraduate degree in England. The bursary operates on a straightforward application process where eligible students can request an application form by contacting the university's bursary office. For research program students, the bursary can be received for a maximum of three payments. The application deadline for the 2026/27 academic year is 31 July 2027. Students should note that only one discount or bursary from the University can be claimed, meaning recipients cannot combine this bursary with other university awards such as the Alumni fee discount.
