Postgraduate Chancellor's Scholarship for China

The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce a number of scholarships of £10,000 for select students from China applying for entry to a postgraduate programme at the University starting September 2026. The scholarships will be based on academic merit and awarded to the highest performing students starting their University of Birmingham programme in the 2026/2027 academic year. The scholarship is awarded towards tuition fees (first year only) of a full-time postgraduate master's programme starting September 2026. Candidates must be classed as Chinese nationals or domiciled in China, with a bachelor's degree from a university in the China '985' project or '211' project. Applicants from '211' universities require a minimum 80% average score, while applicants from '985' universities require a minimum 75% average score. Recipients must be entering a degree programme based at Birmingham's UK campus and be classed as overseas fee payers for tuition fee purposes. The scholarship cannot be deferred and students must start their studies at the University in September 2026. By accepting the award, scholars agree to support the University by helping with future student visits, being available for testimonials, photos, videos for marketing purposes, and engaging in other activities such as blogging if required. The scholarship can be held in conjunction with other scholarships where terms permit, but not with any full University of Birmingham scholarship or any partial or full external scholarship.
