About This Opportunity

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to research students within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney who are undertaking research in providing the egg industry with critical scientific insights for sustainable and prolonged egg production. The research focuses on optimizing calcium levels and phytase dosage in diets for pullet and aging layer hens. The scholarship offers the industry an opportunity to fine-tune calcium and phytase inclusion to enhance performance and skeletal development, improve eggshell quality and food safety, and optimize feed cost. The scholarship is funded by Australian Eggs Limited and provides a stipend allowance of $28,000 per annum for up to 3 years, along with Student Services Amenities fee (SSAF) and overseas health cover (OSHC) for international recipients. Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission to study full-time in a PhD within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences and hold at least an Honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or a Master's degree with a substantial research component in a related field.
