About this opportunity
The Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Applied Innovations in Oral Cancer supports an outstanding postgraduate research student in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney to undertake research in applied innovations in oral cancer. The project aims to develop computational algorithms for virtual surgical planning in treatment of cancer patients within the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) for treatment of oral cancer patients. The study involves medical image based modelling using machine learning techniques, finite element analysis for different surgical strategies, and optimising surgical planning for maximising the outcome of treatment. The scholarship provides a living allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney's Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate for up to 3.5 years for PhD candidates subject to meeting academic progression requirements.
