About this opportunity
The Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Economics provides financial assistance to PhD students conducting research at the intersection of economics and political science. The scholarship specifically supports research into the economic roots of ethnopolitical conflict, with a particular focus on its interplay with agricultural markets and prices. This scholarship is funded by the Australian Research Council Discovery Project on the topic 'Political Conflict, Inefficient Markets, and Food Crises' in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney. Recipients will receive a stipend allowance and may also be eligible for the G.S. Caird Scholarships (Supplementary), which together provide a total stipend at the University of Sydney Research Training Program rate. The scholarship supports full-time PhD students for up to 3 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
