About This Opportunity

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a Masters by Research or PhD student who is undertaking research in inflammation in cardiovascular disease. The scholarship provides a stipend allowance of $7,500 per annum for up to 1.75 years for Masters by Research recipients or up to 3 years for PhD recipients. The scholarship is funded by Western Sydney Local Health District and is available to students enrolled full-time within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. Applicants must already be recipients of a primary scholarship from the University of Sydney that provides a stipend allowance, making this a supplementary funding opportunity. The successful applicant will be selected based on academic merit, a cover letter detailing interest in the subject area, curriculum vitae, and contact details of two academic referees. Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview. Recipients must acknowledge Western Sydney Local Health District in their thesis and any publications or presentations arising from the research funded by this scholarship. The scholarship is subject to annual progress evaluation and follows the same leave, suspension, and overseas research conditions as the primary stipend scholarship.
