About this opportunity
This scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a PhD student who is undertaking a research project examining civil society activism focused on market-based actors and processes. The specific focus of the research could be on areas including ESG and anti-ESG activism, political dynamics of ethical investment, shareholder activism on social and environmental issues, boycott and divestment campaigns, political discourse on 'woke capitalism', political consumerism or political investorism, or corporate lobbying and interest groups. The PhD project may focus on one of the issue areas examined for the Australian Research Council (ARC) project on proxy advisors and political dynamics in ethical investment campaigns. This scholarship is funded by an ARC Discovery project in partnership between Griffith University and The University of Sydney. The successful candidate will be enrolled full-time in a PhD within the School of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney.
