About this opportunity
This scholarship provides financial support to a Master of Philosophy, PhD or Doctor of Musical Arts student undertaking research as part of an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship Project entitled 'Resonant histories of musical encounter in Australia'. The scholarship offers a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) stipend rate for up to 1.75 years for Master of Philosophy recipients or up to 3 years for PhD or Doctor of Musical Arts recipients. Recipients must conduct research in histories of musical encounters in Australia or a closely related area and be enrolled full-time at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The scholarship aims to support students with background knowledge in musicology, music history, music performance, or cultural history with a focus on music and sound. Indigenous people of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or Pasifika heritage are especially encouraged to apply.
