About this opportunity
This scholarship provides funding for a PhD student within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney to conduct research in developing novel vectors based on adeno-associated virus (AAV). The research focuses on enhancing cardiac gene delivery and overcoming the translational barrier of this technology in its use for inherited and acquired heart disease. This scholarship is funded by NSW Health and the University of Sydney as part of the NSW Health Gene and Cell Therapy PhD Program. The successful recipient will receive a stipend allowance and is expected to attend the Commercialisation Training Program and Program Evaluation of the NSW Health Cell and Cell Therapy PhD Program.
