About this opportunity

The Professor Brian Coote Memorial Scholarship for Overseas Study in Law supports exceptional New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents who have completed a degree or diploma from the Faculty of Law at the University of Auckland and are now undertaking a doctoral programme in Law at an overseas institution. The Scholarship was established in 2024 and is funded by a significant bequest left to the Auckland Law School by the late Professor Coote. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to facilitate doctoral study in law at an overseas university for exceptional alumni. The scholarship provides $40,000 per annum for up to 36 months to assist with overseas study expenses. One scholarship is offered annually, opening for applications on 28 March 2025 and closing on 15 May 2025.
