About this opportunity
A bursary, in the amount of $5,000, will be provided annually to an undergraduate student who identifies as a woman, enrolling in Year One of an eligible program in the Faculty of Engineering in which women are underrepresented. Preference will be given to students admitted to Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Nanotechnology, and Software Engineering. Selection will be based on demonstrated financial need as determined by Waterloo. This fund is made possible by a donation from University of Waterloo alumnus, Professor Cherian Sebastian Thachenkary (MASc '75, PhD '81, Management Engineering) and his wife, Pauline Thachenkary, in gratitude of Professor Thachenkary's very rewarding education at Waterloo, and to support and inspire women to pursue education and careers in engineering.
