Professor Debra Majeed Honors Scholarship

The Professor Debra Majeed Honors Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Honors College who graduated from one of 23 specific high schools in the Milwaukee area. The scholarship gives preference to students with demonstrated financial need. The program prioritizes applicants based on a three-tier hierarchy: first, incoming first-year students who demonstrate interest in racial equity, inclusion, or social justice through personal statements or community involvement; second, continuing students with similar demonstrated interests; and third, if no candidates meet the first two criteria, the most deserving continuing student based on graduation school and financial need. This scholarship honors Professor Debra Majeed's legacy and commitment to equity and social justice in education.
