About this opportunity
The Professor Edward A. Beimborn Fellowship in Transportation is awarded annually to a single graduate student in the College of Engineering & Applied Sciences (CEAS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The fellowship recognizes outstanding academic and research achievements of students enrolled in a program leading to a degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in urban transportation. Applicants must be full-time UWM CEE graduate students in transportation engineering and/or have a thesis/dissertation topic in the field of transportation.
A committee of faculty members within the discipline selects the recipient based on the quality of their overall academic record, including grade point average, research and other accomplishments, and faculty recommendations. The fellowship provides a $7,500 award to support graduate research in transportation engineering.
Preference is granted to students who graduated from a Wisconsin high school, received their undergraduate degree from UWM, or are pursuing a PhD with a teaching/research assistantship appointment of at least 33%. The recipient will demonstrate great potential as a researcher in transportation engineering, particularly in urban transportation.
