Professor James J. Whalen Student Scholarship

The Professor James J. Whalen Student Scholarship was established by Dr. Elizabeth A. Whalen in 2022 to support electrical engineering students at the University at Buffalo. This scholarship is awarded to juniors majoring in the Department of Electrical Engineering within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00. The scholarship provides variable funding amounts to assist students with their educational expenses. Preference is given to students who complete the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must submit a personal statement explaining their interest in electrical engineering and how the scholarship would contribute to their success at UB.
