About This Opportunity

The Professor Ren Jizhou Scholarship is awarded to support students in the field of agriculture or horticulture. It is available to Chinese students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate study at Massey University in agriculture or horticulture, or to New Zealand students based in the College of Sciences who intend to visit China to engage in work of value to New Zealand agriculture or horticulture. The scholarship is supported by funds accumulated under the Gansu Grassland Ecological Research Institute (China) component of the Trade for Training Scheme. It was established by Associate Professor Alex Chu in recognition of the contribution made by Professor Ren Jizhou, foundation director of the institute, in promoting the Trade for Training Scheme in China. Professor Ren is also the leading advocate of pastoral farming in China. Two awards of approximately NZD $2,000 each are available annually.
