About this opportunity
Project Hero was co-founded by retired general Rick Hillier and honorary lieutenant-colonel Kevin Reed to provide support to the sons and daughters of Canadian Armed Forces personnel deceased while serving in an active mission, as determined by Canadian Armed Forces criteria. The University of Waterloo is proud to participate in Project Hero by providing eligible dependents with award funding to cover tuition for up to four academic years and on-campus residence and meal plan fees for the first year of study. This comprehensive scholarship covers the value of full-time tuition and compulsory fees for up to eight academic terms (the equivalent of four years) plus the value of on-campus residence fees and the equivalent of a regular or average meal plan for the first year of study (two terms). Applicants must be dependents of Canadian Armed Forces personnel deceased while serving in an active mission, be under 26 years of age, and be enrolling as a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Waterloo in a program of study eligible for funding by the province of Ontario.
