Projektbidrag Film

Projektbidrag Film is a project grant offered by the Swedish Arts Grants Committee (Konstnärsnämnden) to support projects that promote artistic development within film. The grant is designed for professional film artists including film directors, cinematographers, animators, documentary filmmakers, and film editors. The funding supports production of short films and documentaries, as well as experimentation and development work. The committee rarely finances entire films, so applicants are encouraged to apply for specific phases of production, such as a startup grant to begin production. Applicants can subsequently apply for later stages of production. The grant can be used for costs directly related to the project, including salaries for the applicant and other participants, materials, venue rental, or travel expenses. The grant is open once per year and decisions are made by a working group for theater and film, consisting of practicing artists or experts in the field. Selection is based on the quality of artistic work and the applicant's financial need, with consideration given to geographical distribution and diverse artistic expressions.
