About This Opportunity

The Swedish Research Council offers project grants within the humanities and social sciences. The purpose of this grant is to give researchers the freedom to formulate their own research ideas, methods, and execution, and to solve a defined research task within a limited time. Applicants can apply for funding for all types of project-related costs including salaries, facilities, operational costs, and depreciation costs. The grant includes compensation for indirect costs as a proportion of direct costs. The project must be led by an individual researcher with a doctoral degree who will be scientifically responsible for the research activities. Up to 6 other researchers with doctoral degrees can be invited to participate in the application. The grant period is normally 1-3 years, with a fourth year possible only in exceptional cases with special justification. Applications will be assessed by review panels consisting of Swedish and international researchers based on scientific quality, novelty, applicant competence, and feasibility.
