About this opportunity

The Swedish Research Council offers project grants in medicine and health to provide researchers with the freedom to formulate their own research ideas, methods and implementation to solve a defined research task within a limited time. This funding opportunity supports research projects ranging from 1 to 5 years with annual funding between 400,000 and 2,500,000 SEK. The grant is intended for individual researchers with a doctoral degree or equivalent to lead independent research projects within the field of medicine and health. Applications are assessed based on scientific quality, novelty and originality, the applicant's competence, and feasibility by subject-specialized review panels consisting of Swedish and international researchers. The funding can be used for all types of project-related costs including salaries, facilities, operational costs, and depreciation costs. Special consideration is given to projects within precision medicine, women's health and diseases, and pharmacy research.
