About this opportunity
This is a project grant with a special focus aimed at supporting psychiatric research, including research in mental illness, suicide, compulsory psychiatric care and forensic psychiatry. The purpose of the grant is to give researchers freedom to formulate their own research ideas, methods and implementation, and to solve a defined research task within a limited time. The research should aim to answer a knowledge gap and may cover prevention, rehabilitation, care and interventional treatment. The research can be of a more fundamental nature to discover mechanisms or causal relationships linked to mental illness and/or suicide. Research in forensic psychiatry and compulsory care includes rehabilitation, care, pharmacological treatment, addiction treatment and comorbidity between abuse and dependence, mental illness and research on violent behavior. Multi- and/or interdisciplinary approaches are seen as urgent and potentially valuable. The grant supports research projects across humanities and social sciences, clinical treatment research, and medicine and health.
