About This Opportunity

The Promise Scholarship is awarded by the MSU Promise Student Support Program to a select number of students. This program is designed to help fulfill MSU's traditional role as The People's University by offering tuition assistance and other opportunities to entering freshmen and community college transfers from economically challenging situations. The scholarship provides $10,000 over four years ($2,500 per year) to Mississippi residents who are entering first-time freshmen. To qualify, students must have a 9th-11th grade GPA of 3.0 or higher, achieve a minimum ACT score of 19, and come from families with an annual income of $42,000 or less. Applicants must submit both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the General Scholarship Application. This scholarship is part of MSU's commitment to providing educational access and support to students from economically challenging backgrounds.
