Riksantikvaren manages grants from the state budget for professional development in vessel preservation. Actors with relevant competence can apply for project grants for professional development. The purpose of the grant scheme is to preserve and pass on knowledge about crafts related to antiquarian restoration and maintenance of protected and preserved vessels. The scheme aims to create solid professional environments by stimulating collaboration between national vessel preservation centers and other actors. Project grants are intended for work that creates solid professional environments through collaboration, ensures vessel preservation centers can function as low-threshold hubs for other craftspeople, and secures multi-year research projects conducted as collaborative projects. Priority is given to collaborative projects between multiple actors to facilitate better knowledge sharing and achieve increased antiquarian quality on restoration and maintenance work on protected and preserved vessels.
