Ptarmigan Mining Award

The Ptarmigan Mining Award is presented to two full-time students who have been employed within the mining sector or who are the children of a mining sector employee. This entrance award supports students demonstrating academic excellence, community engagement, and financial need as they begin their university journey at Nipissing University. Recipients must maintain a strong academic record with a minimum 75% average and demonstrate involvement in extra-curricular activities. The award recognizes the contribution of the mining sector to the community and supports students with connections to this important industry. Past recipients of the award may reapply for a second award, providing continued support for eligible students throughout their studies.
