About This Opportunity
The Publishing Scholarship for Indigenous Students provides financial support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to study a Graduate Certificate or a Master of Publishing at the University of Sydney. This scholarship is specifically designed to support the development of First Nations editors and other publishing professionals who are under-represented in the Australian publishing industry. The scholarship covers academic course fees for the duration of the eligible degree, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Recipients can undertake the degree in either full-time or part-time mode depending on their preferences. The scholarship aims to address the under-representation of Indigenous professionals in the Australian publishing industry. Applicants are selected based on their curriculum vitae, academic transcript or portfolio of works, and a personal statement demonstrating commitment to publishing and how the scholarship will support their degree completion. Preference is given to applicants demonstrating financial or other hardship, and where hardship levels are equal, academic merit is considered. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark of 50 each semester. The scholarship cannot be deferred without prior permission and is not transferable to another university school, faculty or institution.
