About this opportunity
Pure Math Graduate Entrance Scholarships are available to students applying for admission and admitted to a master's (MMath) or doctoral program in the Department of Pure Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. Recipients must be registered full-time in their program during the terms in which the scholarship is held. A departmental selection committee will automatically consider applicants to the program based on information provided in their application for admission. The scholarship value varies based on other funding support provided to meet funding obligations to the student. For entrance scholarships provided to MMath students, the award will normally be used to fund the student at the standard PhD funding level. For entrance scholarships provided to doctoral students, the award will normally be used to reduce the TA load by one in the first year from that normally required in the standard PhD funding package; the funding level will remain the same as what was offered in the admission letter.
