Queen's Excellence Award

The Queen's Excellence Award is a merit-based scholarship exclusive to international students who commenced a full-time undergraduate programme at Queen's University Belfast campus in September 2024 or September 2025. The award recognizes academic excellence by providing financial support to students who achieve and maintain a high grade point average. Eligible students who achieve a 60% GPA in the academic year 2024/25 will be awarded £3,000 in the subsequent academic year (unless on placement, whereby the award will be made the following year). Students who maintain a minimum GPA of 60% may receive this award in consecutive years, making it a renewable scholarship for the duration of their undergraduate studies. The award is paid only as a discount from tuition fees, with no cash alternative available. No separate application is required for this scholarship - if students achieve a 60% GPA at the end of the academic year and meet the eligibility criteria, they will automatically be awarded the Queen's Excellence Award following enrolment in the next year of their undergraduate programme. Notifications are normally issued during August and if eligible, the award will be credited to the tuition fee account in September.
