About This Opportunity

The Queensland Hydro Bursary supports full-time continuing students with financial need enrolled in undergraduate engineering programs at the University of the Sunshine Coast's Sunshine Coast campus. This bursary is funded by Queensland Hydro, an organization tasked with delivering, operating, and maintaining long-duration energy storage assets for Queensland's transition to clean energy. The bursary aims to support regional communities and provide pathways for students who will contribute to the workforce for projects like the Borumba Pumped Hydro Project. The bursary is valued at A$2,500 and is paid in 8 equal fortnightly instalments over Study Period 2. Priority is given to students from the Borumba local and regional community areas within the Gympie Local Government Area, with secondary priority to students from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa Local Government Areas. Recipients must have completed a minimum of 48 units, maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0, and demonstrate financial need. Selection criteria also consider hours worked in paid employment or commitments that impact study time, such as compulsory fieldwork or significant carer responsibilities.
