About This Opportunity

The Queensland Hydro Scholarship supports full-time second year students enrolled in undergraduate engineering programs at the University of the Sunshine Coast's Sunshine Coast campus. This scholarship is funded by Queensland Hydro, the organization tasked with delivering, operating and maintaining long-duration energy storage assets for Queensland's clean energy transition. The scholarship particularly supports students from the Borumba local and regional communities, reflecting Queensland Hydro's commitment to building capability in the region around their Borumba Pumped Hydro Project. The scholarship provides financial support to help students complete their engineering studies and potentially pursue careers in the clean energy sector. The award is paid in two lump sum payments of $5,000 each, distributed after the census date in Study Period 1 of the recipient's 2nd and 3rd year of their program, for a total value of $10,000. Priority is given to students from specific local government areas including Borumba local community, Borumba regional community, and then Sunshine Coast and Noosa LGAs.
