About This Opportunity

The Quercus Active Citizenship Scholarships at University College Cork recognize students who demonstrate exceptional contribution to citizenship, community engagement, volunteering, or community leadership. Up to 3 scholarships are awarded annually to undergraduate/level 8 students who exhibit sustained engagement in active citizenship with significant impact through a regional or national profile. The scholarship can be renewed for subsequent years subject to meeting retention requirements and progressing to the next academic level. Scholars are expected to act as ambassadors for UCC and the Quercus Programme, demonstrating leadership, sustained commitment, and discernible outcomes in domains such as volunteering, advocacy, community engagement, social regeneration, or social entrepreneurship. The programme aims to balance academic achievement with personal development and active citizenship, making a positive impact on Irish civic life.
