About this opportunity

The Quercus College Scholarships are awarded annually in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences at University College Cork based on examination results. These scholarship medals are awarded to students who achieve an overall first class honours standard in their University examinations, with a total mark of at least 840 out of 1200. The scholarships recognize outstanding academic achievement across various programs including Arts, Social Sciences, Music, Arts-Music, Applied Psychology, Early Years and Childhood Studies, Drama and Theatre Studies, and Sports Studies and Physical Education. The College normally awards one scholarship medal to the highest scoring student in each year of each program (excluding final year), though the Head of College has discretion to make additional awards. Recipients are awarded the title of Quercus College Scholar along with an appropriate descriptor based on their degree program. All scholars remain liable for tuition (if applicable), registration and capitation fees. These scholarships are awarded based on the previous year's examination results, with Second Year medals awarded on First Year examination results, Third Year medals on Second Year results, and so on. Students must be registered as full-time students at UCC in the year following the examinations on which the award is assessed. The medals are presented at a College prize giving ceremony.
