Quercus Sport Scholarships

At University College Cork, the Quercus Sport Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional excellence in their chosen sport. The scholarship programme is designed to help talented athletes balance academic achievement with sporting excellence and personal development. Up to 5 scholarships are awarded annually to students registered on undergraduate/level 8 programmes. The scholarship provides comprehensive support including financial assistance, academic flexibility, sports medicine support, and performance coaching. Scholars must compete at the highest available level in their sport and demonstrate identifiable potential for further improvement. They are expected to act as ambassadors for UCC in sporting activities and participate in activities promoting the Quercus Programme. The scholarship can be renewed for subsequent years subject to the scholar meeting retention requirements and progressing to the next level of study in their academic programme.
