Quercus University Scholarships

University College Cork offers up to 4 Quercus Academic Scholarships annually to registered undergraduate/level 8 students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence. The scholarship is valued at up to €10,500 and is awarded through an invitation-only application process based on previous summer academic results. Scholars must be current UCC students and will be selected by the Scholarship Panel for participation in the Quercus Talented Students' Programme. Successful applicants typically show outstanding achievement within their discipline, normally being the highest scoring student in continuous assessment and end of semester examinations, with evidence of provincial, national, or international achievement. The scholarship can be renewed for subsequent years subject to meeting retention requirements and progression to the next level of study, though it cannot be held during years spent abroad or on work placement. Scholars are expected to act as ambassadors for UCC, participating in academic activities and promoting the Quercus Talented Students' Programme. Selection criteria include academic excellence, participation and engagement with their programme, communication skills, evidence of mentoring peers, and demonstration of leadership and initiative. Where there are equivalent levels of excellence, applicants deemed able to contribute most to the Quercus Talented Students' Programme will be selected.
