About this opportunity
The Quixwood Moor Wind Farm Community Fund provides financial assistance to community groups and voluntary organisations that enrich lives around the Quixwood Moor wind farm. Located on the eastern side of Berwickshire, close to Grantshouse in the Scottish Borders, this fund benefits people in Abbey St Bathans, Bonkyll, and the areas covered by Grantshouse Community Council and Preston Community Council.
The fund supports projects or organisations that are supporting the health and wellbeing of local people, encouraging rural regeneration, providing amenities for community use, delivering education and training, employment and/or social welfare initiatives, and promoting energy efficiency, environmental protection or landscape conservation. Grants of up to £5,000 are available to registered charities, community and voluntary groups with a constitution, and social enterprises registered with the appropriate body.
Applications are considered on a rolling basis with decisions made within 8 weeks. Eligible applicants must be based in or deliver activity in the specified ward areas, though projects from adjoining community councils may be considered if local people from the eligible locations will benefit. The fund is administered by Point North on behalf of NTR Plc, leaders in clean energy who support local community groups and environmental projects around their wind farms.
