About This Opportunity

Originally established in 2003, having been administered since 1944 by Perpetual Trustees Queensland and maintained by the income from a bequest from the late Rachid Lahoud Arida (also known as Richard Dominique Arida), the R D Arida Scholarship supports commencing students from North Queensland who are in financial need. This scholarship is part of the Aspire Scholarship Program at the University of Queensland. The scholarship provides financial support to domestic students enrolling in any bachelor program at UQ who demonstrate significant financial disadvantage and are residents of North Queensland. Preference is given to students from Charters Towers, Hughenden or Cloncurry. The scholarship aims to assist students who have achieved the maximum points for the 'Financial Hardship' category of QTAC's Educational Access Scheme and who have been awarded The Queensland Commitment Scholarship.
