R. Tucker Thompson Sail Training Trust / University of Waikato Award

The R. Tucker Thompson Sail Training Trust / University of Waikato Award is a scholarship available for new full-time undergraduate students who have attended a R. Tucker Thompson Youth Voyage in the last five years and are intending to enrol for the first time at the University of Waikato. The award was created in 2024 to recognise the strong commitment of R. Tucker Thompson Sail Trust and the University of Waikato to the people of New Zealand and the advancement of education opportunities for people from Northland. The scholarship provides $10,000 in funding to support undergraduate students across all subject areas. Preference may be given to applicants studying topics relevant to the marine environment and/or marine industry, and who would not normally be able to consider or attend study at University.
