About this opportunity
The R W Barnes Scholarship Fund (Mathematics Award) is an undergraduate scholarship offered by Imperial College London's Department of Mathematics. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit to students of Black heritage pursuing full-time undergraduate degrees in Mathematics. The successful scholar will receive a cash bursary of £16,500 per annum for up to 4 academic years, which can be used either fully as a maintenance grant or partly for tuition fees with the remainder as maintenance. The award is available to prospective students starting in the academic year 2026/27 and requires applicants to have Home fee status. Recipients may be expected to meet informally with the donor, participate in scholarship-related events, or submit progress statements to be shared with donors. Continuation of the scholarship is subject to maintaining satisfactory academic progress as defined by Imperial College London.
