R&A Ransome Scholarship

The R&A Ransome Scholarship was established in 1994 as the Dr. Ernest L Ransome III Scholarship, as a way for the friends and associates of Dr. Ransome to recognise his commitment to philanthropy, education and athletics. The scholarship's mission is to enrich the experience of deserving postgraduate students by affording them the opportunity to attend the University of St Andrews. The scholarship is available to graduate students from Canada, Mexico and the USA entering a one-year taught postgraduate masters course: MLitt, MRes, MSc, MPP. Three awards are available annually, each consisting of full tuition fees, accommodation fees to cover residential university costs, a fixed book allowance, and a fixed travel allowance. The R&A Ransome Scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with any other scholarship or funding covering the same elements as this award, unless prior written agreement has been obtained.
