About this opportunity
The Raftelis Foundation Environmental Education Scholarship (RFEES) was created by George and Eva Raftelis to promote educational programs, provide educational materials, and fund environmental sustainability and water stewardship educational initiatives. The grant focuses on funding competitive financial awards to elementary or middle school educators. The RFEES seeks to educate young developing minds about the value of clean water and the importance of the water industry in providing clean water for health, recreational and business purposes. The grant may be applied towards expenses related to a variety of clean water and environmental preservation educational initiatives, including educational materials (books, videos), travel for field trips, building materials specific to a project, enrollment fees for water-related short courses for educators, and prizes for competitions. Recipients must complete their project within one year after notification of the award and provide a report describing the administration of the project and its accomplishments.
