Ralph and Clara Betcher Scholarship

The Ralph and Clara Betcher Scholarship was established in honor of Ralph (Jake) and Clara Betcher, who lived and farmed in the Withrow area. Although they didn't have a chance for an education, they were always supportive of education for their children. The scholarship supports current or recent graduates from Waterville and Mansfield High Schools in their studies at vocational, technical, or trade schools or at a community college studying a trade or skill. The committee's intention is to make it possible for students with financial needs to receive training which will help them to be better employed. The scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington and reflects the Betchers' commitment to supporting education opportunities for young people in their community.
