Ralph E Carlyle Bar None Leadership Scholarship

The Ralph E Carlyle Bar None Leadership Scholarship is awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the second, third, or fourth year of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program at the University of Alberta. Recipients are selected based on demonstrated leadership qualities through community involvement and extracurricular activities. Preference is given to students who have expressed an interest in soil science. This scholarship honors Dr Ralph E Carlyle (BSc Ag 1935, MSc Soils 1937), who dedicated his life to education and agricultural development around the world. The award is funded through an endowment by Wayne (BSc Ag 1971) and Wendy Mikkelsen in memory of Wayne's uncle. Students may receive only one Bar None Award or Scholarship in any given academic year.
