Ray and Evelyn Duncan Teaching Scholarship

The Ray and Evelyn Duncan Teaching Scholarship supports students pursuing teacher certification at Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship is awarded pending review by principals of high schools in Crawford, Jasper, Cumberland, Clark, Richland, and Lawrence counties in Illinois, with preference given to applicants from Crawford County. Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.65 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled full-time in a program leading to teacher certification. Preference is given to students demonstrating financial need and to incoming freshmen, though upper-class candidates may also be considered if fund earnings permit. Recipients may be eligible to receive the award again provided they continue to meet the criteria. The award is announced in the spring and awarded in the fall semester.
