R.D. Arida Residential Scholarship

The R.D. Arida Residential Scholarship is part of the UQ Residential Scholarships Scheme, established in 2003 and maintained by the income from a bequest from the late Rachid Lahoud Arida. This scholarship provides financial support towards accommodation fees for domestic undergraduate students who are experiencing financial hardship and have resided in North Queensland. The scholarship aims to assist students with the costs of living in approved accommodation providers while pursuing their studies at the University of Queensland. Preference is given to applicants who have resided in the Preferred Region of North Queensland, specifically the districts of Charters Towers, Hughenden and Cloncurry. The scholarship is awarded as part of a comprehensive residential scholarship scheme that supports students from regional, rural, and remote areas of Australia.
