About this opportunity
The RDJ Scholarship is awarded to students from priority underrepresented groups who are pursuing law studies at University College Cork. This scholarship specifically targets students from ethnic minorities, migrants or refugees lawfully present in Ireland, and students with disabilities who are DARE eligible. The scholarship provides financial support of €5,000 plus a valuable six-week summer work placement at RDJ's Cork office, offering practical legal experience at one of Ireland's leading law firms. Recipients must be registered in UCC School of Law for a BCL or LLB degree, or be undergraduate students at Cork University Business School who have completed at least one law module, and must have achieved or expect to achieve at least a 2H2 average in their previous year's modules. The selection process includes submission of a personal statement, an essay on diversity and inclusion in the Irish legal profession, and an interview with a mixed panel from RDJ and the School of Law. Two scholarships are available annually, demonstrating RDJ's commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession.
